My cat has a hole or blackhead on his skin? What is it?

A couple days ago I felt my cats belly and noticed a little bump. My cat is normally ticklish so i rarely feel his belly. I found the bump and it looked like a pink/beige long rice like thing. I thought it was a worm, but it didnt move. I them realized it might be a tick.

My bf came by the next day as he is experienced with tick removal and said that the thing just fell off. It was not a tick at all.

I looked closer at the area and realized that as i was touching it, there was a thick white substance coming out, like if a person was to squeeze a blackhead. So i squeezed lightly and more came out.

Now there is a tiny hole or enlarged pore looking thing there. It is NOT red, scabby, bloody, or swollen. It is just like a hole. I've seen this on people before, but not my cat. Then again all pets i've had are furry, so maybe i just didnt notice.

Anyone else have experience with this? Or knows what it is? Is it possible that its just a sebum from a pore?

*** Please DO NOT Tell me to see a vet. I obviously will if i think its necessary and just want to see if anyone has had experience with this before. ONLY answer if you have experienced this before.

THANKS!My cat has a hole or blackhead on his skin? What is it?
You are probably right. Animals get sebaceous cysts and fatty tumors just like people. It may fell again. Just clean the area off so nothing infects it while healing. Just keep an eye on it in case it becomes enlarged. My cat has a hole or blackhead on his skin? What is it?
sounds like a sebaceous cyst.(giant zit)
MY VOTE is for Bot Fly...

I would get some Avantage/ or other flea repellant and put it on your cat. this might help with any other bug that wants to infest your cat!
It could have been a ';Bot Fly'; larva that had come out of the hole and was drying up. Now that you have the hole open, squirt some sterile water (or peroxide) into it, then fill it with Neosporin Ointment. It should clear up in a couple of days. If it starts to look infected, THEN take him to the vet.

I once had a dog, with a hole on the back of his neck. When I looked carefully at it, I saw ';something'; moving around inside! So, I got some tweezers, stuck them into the hole, and pulled out a worm that looked like a Grub Worm. I found out later that it was a larva of a Bot Fly. I doctored the hole, and never had to worry about it again.....He was fine, but that was an experience I'm not liable to forget!

Hope this helps........Good luck.
Cats don't get pimples like people do. I am pretty sure what fell off was a scab, most likely from a scratch or a puncture. Try dabbing a little peroxide on it to keep it clean. If your cat acts fine otherwise, it will probably just heal on its own. My cat had one of those, probably a scratch from one of my other cats, and its since healed. You could always just call a vet (rather than bringing it in) and ask them.
